Take your face off :)

Hello beautiful readers,

Waheeey!! I am finally dedicating time to my bblog and I am pretty proud of this if I may say so myself.

Soooo, you woke up in the morning and happily "put your face on" however, as the day slowly comes to an end, its time to "take your face off"& for me this is a massive chore!

I think I have quite a long routine and thought I would share it with you all. Above, is a little snippet of what I use on a daily basis (well, when I wear make up) bar the peeling gel which is a once a week type product. From left to right:

1) Johnson's, Face Care Wipes (For combination skin) - £3.05

2) Soap & Co, Mineral Peeling Gel - £60.00
3) SkinSystem, Cleansing Lotion - £2.00
4) The Body Shop, Vitamin E Eye Cream - £11.00
5) Nars, Makeup Cleansing Oil - £29.50
6) Garnier, Micellar Cleansing Water - £4.99

I know I get really into these bblogs and rant on a bit too much about each product so, this time I have decided to keep the bblog short and sweet (I promise its not as long winded as it looks)! :)

1) Johnson's, Face Care Wipes (For combination skin) - £3.05

To begin with we have the face care wipes by Johnson's. Lets face it every girl needs some makeup wipes. Before I learnt anything to do with makeup I literally just used wipes to take my makeup off and thought this did the job. Little did I know, this merely just wiped off SOME of my makeup and the rest was left clogging up my pores causing breakouts. Nevertheless, I will always use wipes to take off visible parts of my makeup.

I have tried endless amounts of wipes but they never seemed to satisfy me. They either dried out really quickly or were quite rough on the skin. Recently I came across Johnson's face wipes and as they were on offer in Superdrug I decided to pick up a few and try them out. This green packet is for combination skin (MY SKIN!) so, I was so excited about trying these out. To date I have tried all of the different types of wipes from Johnson's, however these ones are the ones which work best for my skin type.

2) Soap & Co, Mineral Peeling Gel - £60.00

Now, I know this sounds REALLY pricey, but I bought this gel along with a couple of other things and as a bblogger I received a HUGE discount on this product. It does retail for £60 but if you purchase quite a few products you can really drive a hard bargain (The shops name is Sakaria and they have a couple of branches in and out of London (I went to the Oxford Street branch)). I saw a demonstration of this product and I was simply amazed. However, I always feel as though when I purchase products that have been demonstrated on others, they don't quite perform as well when you actually use them on yourself. I WAS WRONG. This product peels away dead skin cells, make up residue and clogged pores.

Every time I use this, my skin feels so soft and appears much more brighter and healthier. I really do feel as though this product is underrated and I highly recommend it!

3) SkinSystem, Cleansing Lotion - £2.00

You know when people say "oh this is cheap and cheerful" - well that's what you could say about this product. This cleansing lotion (from Asda) does everything you need a cleansing lotion to do. For those who don't use cleansing lotions, only once you start using this to take your makeup off, you will then realise what you have been missing out on.

Before wiping my face with facial wipes (yeah, I know most people use this at the end but hey), I put some of this cleansing lotion onto my fingertips and smooth it all over my face. It has this extremely creamy texture which is free from parabens, fragrance and artificial colours which is great for sensitive skin. What I love about this product is that is contains Aloe Vera leaf juice and nourishing shea butter which leaves my skin feeling extremely moisturised and hydrated and to be honest its £2...you really cannot go wrong! :)

4) The Body Shop, Vitamin E Eye Cream - £11.00

I LOVE The Body Shop and their products never fail to impress me. This eye cream has been out for a while now and I purchased it quite a long time ago. I know I'm only 21 and shouldn't really worry about eye bags and all that boring stuff but I do! So I really wanted to try an eye cream to see if it really made any difference.

When I first tried the product out, I saw absolutely no difference. I gave up on it and shoved in back in my cupboard. A couple of weeks later I thought I would give it a second chance. I was pleasantly surprised as I used it continuously for around 4-5 weeks every other night. I am happy to say it has made a HUGE difference to the dark circles under my eyes and has helped hydrate them and  made them look revitalised. Patience really is a virtue. Moral of the story is - don't expect it to work overnight. Use is for a couple of weeks and you will see the difference yourself.

5) Nars, Makeup Cleansing Oil - £29.50

Oh my God. I am in LOVE this this oil, for the days I don't use my cleansing lotion (no.3 above) I use this oil by Nars. I was luckily enough to grab the last bottle at IMATS this year and I am so pleased I bought it. Besides having a lovely smell it also dissolves makeup quickly (including waterproof mascara!) and leaves a clean feeling afterwards. Its not an oil you leave on for the night. You apply the oil and then rinse it off with luke warm water.

The only downside, its the packaging and the fact that I can't take it in my bag as its prone to leaking. However, at the moment it is sitting happily in my cupboard leak free and I will most definitely be repurchasing this!

6) Garnier, Micellar Cleansing Water - £4.99

Last but by no means least, we have the well-known, Micellar Cleansing water by Garnier. This is known to be a dupe for the Bioderma cleansing water (although I haven't tried it). After using a combination of the products above (and before using the cleansing oil by Nars) I use this cleansing water simply to feel more refreshed and to ensure all make up residue has come off. I am quite OCD about residue and need to feel as though every last inch has been removed. By OCD I mean, even if its 3am and I have just got home, I will still use these products and then sleep.

I cannot bare sleeping with makeup on, its my version of a nightmare, no seriously. This water harnesses the active cleansing principles of micells to capture and remove excess sebum, impurities and make-up without the need for harsh rubbing.  In other words, it gets rid of the 'ickyness' that's left over.

I hope this was of some help to you lovely readers. I would love to know what you use/recommend and what your views are on these products. Oh and remember...DONT FORGET TO TAKE YOUR MAKEUP OFF! :)

Lots of love,

Nouveau Beauty xxx
