So guys, firstly I am so sorry for being an awful bbloger and not posting anything in forever! I promise I am going to post more often now! :)
Secondly, I am SO excited to announce that I have officially started up my own little part-time business as a makeup artist! So, go and check out www.facebook.com/beautybyridhisa for some pics! If you're looking for a reasonably priced MUA based in Essex then you know who to call :D x
Right, down to the whole point of the bblog! What's one thing nearly every girl uses on a daily basis? FOUNDATION!
I have been through endless amounts of foundations trying to get the perfect coverage, perfect colour match and something that doesn't react to my skin. Funnily enough, I now have about 12+ foundations sitting on my dresser. I can't stick to one foundation, and I tend to choose the one I would like to use depending on the weather and the amount of coverage I would like. I have narrowed them down to the best 6 now. Read on and see what I think....
Here's an image of the six foundations I will be briefly reviewing...
From left to right:
1. Dior - Airflash (Spray Foundation)
Shade - 300 Medium Beige
2. YSL - Le Teint Touche Eclat
Shade - BD 50 Beige Dore
3. Estee Lauder - Double Wear
Shade - 4N1 Shell Beige
4. Bobbi Brown - Foundation Stick
Shade - 3.5 Warm Beige
5. MAC - Pro Longwear
Shade - NC35
6. Bobbi Brown - Extra Repair Foundation
Shade - 2.5 Warm Sand
1. Dior - Airflash (Spray Foundation)
So, to begin with we have the Dior - Airflash (Spray Foundation). The whole concept of this foundation is absolutely genius! You simply spray the foundation on your face and you're done (yes, its actually that simple!) This means you don't need to fuss over blending it in with a brush/beauty blender and you still get such a flawless base! Its as easy as 1,2,3. So to begin with you shake the foundation, you then spray it (in a ''Z" shape) and bam, you're good to go!
I LOVE this foundation and I tend to reach for it when I am attending weddings and other special occasions (its not that cheap to use every day!). Also, as its a spray foundation it can use up quite a lot of product hence why its good to reach for it every so often. I can honestly say I am so glad I have this foundation! The coverage is absolutely amazing, its light yet dewy and natural yet flawless.
Unfortunately, there are only 5 shades (Light Beige, Cameo, Medium Beige, Sand and Honey), therefore you have to make-do (and maybe mix) with the colours available. Other than that, I cannot criticise the foundation.
Here's a little swatch of the foundation and a picture of the packaging:
2. YSL - Le Teint Touche Eclat
Next, we have the YSL - Le Teint Touche Eclat. This is actually a recent purchase and it is a newer foundation by YSL that is inspired by their best-selling Touche Eclat Illumination Pen. A few friends continuously recommended this foundation to me and I kindly received some Boots Vouchers so I thought, why not?
This foundation has now turned into my 'holy grail' and I am SO glad I bought it. The foundation leaves my skin with a luminous dewy finish whilst also covering imperfections perfectly. It is a great foundation for those with normal to dry skin and it actually lasts long (something many foundations lack).
With regards to coverage, I would say it is light to medium. 1 and a half pumps covers all my blemishes. Recently, I have been into lighter foundations as they look nicer on the skin, a lot more natural and flawless.
The good thing with YSL is that they have loads of shades therefore you're bound to find your perfect match! :)

3. Estee Lauder - Double Wear
Thirdly, we have the Estee Lauder Double wear Foundation. This product has been raved about in SO many reviews and it claims to provide flawless, lasting coverage that will withstand heat, humidity and sweat while feeling lightweight on the skin and looking completely natural throughout the day. It's also smudge-proof, oil-free, non-acnegenic and fragrance free. I can happily say, since I have purchased this foundation I have NEVER looked back and it does everything it says on the tin. It is my go-to foundation when I want FULL and flawless coverage.
The Double Wear foundation can be applied very smoothly and once it has dried it stays in place all day long & literally does not budge. It is heat-proof, water-resistant & gives your skin AMAZING finish.
As with YSL, this foundation comes in 21 shades which makes is a lot easier to find the right shade for your undertone.

4. Bobbi Brown - Foundation Stick
I bet you all knew that the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick would be in my TOP 6 foundations! How couldn't it be?! For months and months (maybe even years) this foundation stick has never failed me. It is absolutely gorgeous on the skin!
This foundation quite literally just just dissolves into my skin. It is SO natural looking yet it still gives an amazing finish (it covers my blemishes too!). One of the advantages of this foundation is that it is very build-able, therefore it is suitable for everyone. You can opt for the light base or full on coverage, it really is up to you!
Another great thing about the foundation stick is that you can purchase a shade which is a few shades darker than your skin tone) and use it as a contouring stick! It blends SO well and is a great dupe for Zukreats, Artist of Makeup's Contouring stick (although it is more expensive).
I have repurchased this stick time & time again & it has been my favourite foundation for a long time. As one of Bobbi Brown's top MUA, Marc Reagan states "it is one thing every woman needs in her makeup bag" and I couldn't agree more! This foundation never feels heavy or like its clogging up my pores & it doesn't oxidise. The stick lasts on my combination dry/oily skin all day long. All in all I love the concept of the foundation stick and the finish too!

5. MAC - Pro Longwear
So here we have it, one of the old classics...MAC'S pro long wear foundation with spf 10. When I was younger and thought MAC was the only 'top' brand out there, I ran to the MAC store to get a foundation from there. I used to LOVE this foundation (I still like it) but I have slowly diverted to other brands. Although I can't really say much about this foundation, I still like having it on my dresser and when I feel like experimenting I will usually use this foundation.
The great thing about MAC is that they really cater for those with a yellow undertone (ME ME ME) therefore, MAC foundations are great for every skin type and colour. The coverage is medium and it is a long-lasting foundation with a matte-satin finish.

6. Bobbi Brown - Extra Repair Foundation
Lastly, we come back to Bobbi Brown, but this time with their Extra Repair foundation. Bobbi Brown has to be one of my favourite makeup brands that never really fails me. This foundation is slightly different to your usual foundations and it can almost be seen as a cross-over between a foundation and a BB cream.
It contains conditioning oils and Shea butter and is best applied with fingers, just like the Bobbi brown artists suggest. It is to be treated like skin care (as essentially that's what it is) and you have to rub it in like you would with your moisturiser. If you have normal skin you could probably skip the moisturising stage and just use this.
This foundation gives a light to medium coverage with a dewy, satin finish. Not forgetting it smells luxurious! Although I HATE scents when it comes to makeup, this smell is actually really nice! It also lingers on the face making you smell nice and feel fresh!
