5 shades of pink...

Hello my lovelies,
As its been a couple of days now, I thought it was about time I reviewed a few more products. I was looking through my dressing table and thought to myself, what can I review? What do I really love? Obviously, it didn't take long for me to decide...LIPSTICKS. My collection of lip products seem to be never ending. I have so many shades of lipsticks. So, I am going to share with you my "go to" lipsticks.
As I am quite fair I tend to steer away from dark browns and light nudes as they either make me look quite washed out or just plain weird. Pinks however, well they're a different story. I absolutely LOVE my pinks and can never have enough. It was so hard for me to narrow the shades down to just 5, but I done it!

Firstly, as you can see above I have lined up my favourite 5 and swatched them (from left to right)
1. MAC - Ultra Darling
2. GOSH - Tropical Pink
3. MAC - Girl About Town
4. REVLON - Macaroon
5. MAC - Pink Pearl Pop

So, here's a review of the 5 in depth...

1. MAC - Ultra Darling - £15.50
MAC'S Ultra Darling - Sheen Supreme is one of my favourite MAC lipsticks of all time. I cannot emphasise how much I love this shade! It's so sheer yet so easy to work with. As it has a really nice creamy finish it's very buildable and feels more like a lipgloss/lipbalm (minus the stickiness). So, for those who like the 'lighter' finish this would most definitely be the lipstick for you. As for colour, its a rosy coral type colour which would suit nearly all skin tones. If you don't want a 'in your face' type pink then this is the lipstick for you as it suits the minimalistic look. But, it also works with night looks hence why it's such a good buy. The shade is so versatile! Most of all, I just love the formula and the finish.

2. GOSH - Tropical Pink - £6.49

This lipstick is one of my more 'daring' lipsticks. Although in the picture above it doesn't look that 'in your face' it is quite a bright colour. But the staying power of this lipstick is incredible! As its from the velvet range its quite bold and even once you have rubbed your makeup off, your tropical pink lips will still be there! The one downside however, is that I personally find the formula quite drying. I mean its no biggie and that can be fixed with a little lipcote! It's quite a bold colour with a blue undertone, if you like your bold pinks then this is a good buy for you!

3. MAC - Girl About Town - £15
One word, AMAZING! I absolutely love Girl About Town! It is the most pigmented, vibrant, hottest pink out there! Its a bright blue fuchsia. For the girly girls who love bold, bright, pink lips...go get this! Without a doubt I can never fault MAC lipsticks as I always love them, but this one is my FAVOURITE. I prefer using this shade with my night looks...bright lips and neutral eyes are my perfect combination. Even for those with smaller less plumped lips (like myself), you can really work with this colour and I personally think it makes your lips look more plumped & peachy. As its from the Amplified Creme range the finish is lovely! A quick tip however, is to apply this colour with a lip brush as it gives a great clean finish. The staying power is great and when it does fade, it doesn't leave your lips looking dry and patchy, quite the opposite...I feel it fades really well throughout the day and I hardly ever need to re-apply the shade (something I hate doing).

4. REVLON - Macaroon - £7.99
So when the Revlon lip butters first came out, I read nothing but positive reviews on them, hence why I HAD to go out and purchase one. As I was in a rush I literally picked up the shade that I assumed would look nice, without swatching it. BUT I am so glad I picked up the colour 'macaroon'. It is the most gorgeous pinkish-brownish shade with great colour pay-off. The lip butters look like a lipstick but feel like a lip balm (the PERFECT type of lip product for me). As the lip butters contain shea, mango and coconut butter...all the good stuff for hydrating and moisturising the lips, to me it is worth every penny.

5. MAC - Pink Pearl Pop - £15
Another MAC lipstick?! Yes, I know! BUT I absolutely love MAC lipsticks (I have probably said this about ten times now)! Anyway, Pink pearl....from the cremesheen range is an additional pink in my collection. Although I don't wear this colour on a regular basis I am glad I have it in my makeup collection. When I want a nice baby pink with a warm undertone this is the lipstick I will reach for. MAC have described this colour as a frosted mid-tonal pink...and that is exactly what it is. The frosty side of the lipstick makes it a lot nicer to wear as the finish is a little different to the average pinks most people reach for. Its not too in your face, but its also not a neutral light pink...its somewhere in between. For those as indecisive as I can sometimes be this pink is great!

What do you think? What are your favourite shades and why?
