Today, I thought I would bblogg about my favourite drugstore concealers as I really do prefer them to the high end ones! :) I have narrowed them down to my top 4 and I use them all for different purposes. Like most girls, concealers are my bestfriends, I do NOT know what I would do without these amazing products.
Concealers are generally used for different purposes, such as for dark circles, spots, the odd blemishes etc. I tend to use them for all the reasons stated and have found some real gems that I wanted to share with you all. I hope you beauties enjoy this little bblog!
I thought I would start with my FAVOURITE concealer of the four, and this is the Maybelline - Eraser Eye concealer: I have been using this concealer for ages and have NEVER found ANYTHING to match this. I use this on a daily basis and cannot recommend it enough. It has an amazing sponge tip applicator (as you can see in the image below) which makes it so much easier to apply and blend. You simply apply the concealer directly under your eyes and blend in an outward motion. The consistency and coverage is absolutely flawless. The best thing? IT DOESNT CREASE!!! Need I say anymore?! If you want a creamy, flawless, age rewinding concealer which you will not be disappointed by, then go and get this!
I use the shade Nude and it matches my skin tone perfectly! I've also inserted a little snippet of how the dark circles under my eyes look after applying this concealer.
My next favourite, is the NYX - Above & Beyond full coverage concealer: This was an impulse buy at the IMATS show and I am SO GLAD I bought this. I also use this almost every day with my Royal & Langnickel Silk Pro Flat Concealer Brush and it works like a dream. This concealer is extra creamy and has AMAZING coverage. As you can see from the image below it looks quite thick and pasty however, if applied with the right brush and blended in well it is absolutely crease free, lightweight and flat out fabulous! I highly recommend this concealer, especially for those who are looking for a medium to full coverage concealer!
For those who are interested, I use the shade CJ05 - Medium which is perfect for my skin tone.
Third, we have the Collection - Lasting Perfection, Ultimate Wear Concealer: This concealer is continually raved about, and when you purchase it, you will KNOW why. Initially I bought shade 4 - Warm Medium (the darkest shade in the collection) and I loved it. However, as I already had a concealer for under my eyes that I couldn't depart from (Maybelline - discussed above) I decided to use it up and go for shade 2 - Cool Medium. I now use this as a concealer AND highlighter just below my eyes (in a triangle shape) and it gives me amazing coverage and really brightens the area. This is great for covering any spots and especially any redness. As you can see below, the concealer comes with a dofer applicator which makes it super easy to apply however, I then use my fingers to set the concealer in place. Try it for yourself and see what the hype is about! :)
Last, and by no means least we have the ELF - Maximum Coverage concealer: This concealer comes in a fairly large tube, so you get a great amount for the price. With regards to the coverage - the main thing I love about this concealer is that its so build-able BUT doesn't look cakey when built up. It blends effortlessly with both a brush and with your fingertips. Even with layers of this concealer it doesn't feel heavy or settle into any fine lines around the face. The main selling point is that this concealer is oil free, so it doesn't add any unwanted greasy glow, quite the opposite - it gives a healthy, light reflecting finish! :) I use the shade Tan and this is the closest match I have found so far! Go try it for yourselves! :)
